Candidates running political campaigns in Miami for positions in the Village of Pinecrest must be a resident in one of these areas to represent on the Village Council at the time of their qualification. They must also continue residing here throughout their term.

Pinecrest holds a general election in each even-numbered year on the same day as the United States Congressional elections, the first Tuesday in November. Elected council members serve four-year terms beginning at 12 P.M. on the 7th day after their election and do not receive any compensation for their post.

The current positions that are available are Seats 1 and 3, as well as the mayor position. The qualifying period for candidates begins at 12 PM June 8th, 2020, and runs through 12 PM on June 12th, 2020.

The next general election for the City of Sunny Isles Beach will take place on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 for Commissioner Seats  01 and 03, the northern and southern areas of Sunny Isles Beach.

The qualifying period for political campaigns in Miami concerning the Sunny Isles Beach general election will take place from Tuesday, August 11th, 2020 at 9 AM, extending until Friday, August 14th, 2020 at 4 PM.

Commissioners additionally serve four-year terms and must represent a resident of the Residential area where they are running, continuing to live here throughout their term in office.
