In the small industrial town of Medley, three candidates currently compete for two open seats on Medley’s Town Council. These three candidates include an incumbent, all vying for the two available seats. Edgar Ayala has served as a councilmember since 2012 and is currently running for reelection. The other open seat belongs to councilman Jack Morrow, who is not electing to run again. 

Medley additionally has no political districts. This means that the two candidates who receive the most votes in any Medley Elections win the seats. Their elections remain nonpartisan. Nonetheless, the winning candidates serve four-year terms, earning an annual salary of $53,202.18.

Medley earns the majority of its revenue through commercial taxes. This enables the town to utilize these funds to provide social services like meals for the elderly. This demographic comprises about 30 percent of the total population in Medley.
